The Iraqi Ministry of Finance to provide life insurance to university professors after the increasing number of them leaving the country due to the ongoing violence. This initiative also includes the provision of personal security guards of the university teachers.

Therefore, the ministry decided to provide them with a system of life insurance and the security guards of their own choosing."

The backbone of that system "would give the teacher a special budget for the hiring of security guards from private companies who will protect them. In the event of any harm they would get their families to sufficient funds to meet the needs."

The Ministry of Higher Education has expressed its deep concern at the result of leaving the most qualified professors in the country.

The targeting of teachers''who are daily pushing them to flee the country, creating a major gap in the educational system. Therefore, the ministry decided to provide them with a system of life insurance and the security guards of their own choosing''
As explained Ahmed, Abdul Bari, a senior official of the Ministry of Education, that "in addition to the growing sectarian violence, the majority of professors have left the country. We rely only on the few remaining, including the new graduates, so we face a critical situation now is getting worse when Lectures begin in the month of September. "

According to the Ministry of Education that the insurance company of the Government will give teachers "to ensure a comprehensive," but it did not specify the amount of the award decision. A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance last week that "The purpose of this policy is to contribute to avert the threat of military operations and ease the impact on Iraqi families," . Although it is difficult to obtain accurate figures in this regard, it could be argued as Abdelbari that more than 240 university professors have been killed since the start of the US-led forces in Iraq to the U.S. in 2003 and left the country, thousands of them abroad.

The violence in the country have been exacerbated to the extent that the government allowed for the month of May 2005 for the doctors to carry arms to defend themselves.
